		<description>Thanks Gene, yes I agree that &quot;phone home&quot; software or hardware is rather annoying.  It&#039;s like they don&#039;t trust you.  That&#039;s another reason to DIY I feel, you get to see how things work and if you don&#039;t like them you change them!</description>

		<description>I&#039;m an old prototype r&amp;d machinist.  So I revel in your diy attitude.  I have the 200 and 300 after going through the 70 and 70s.

I love tethered shooting and now have an eye-fi card that esentially can do this function.  But it&#039;s irritating that they like to force an internet connection to set the card up for a change to the computer you wish to upload pics to.  Now after a year of nitpicking at them they&#039;ve come out with 2 new models of eye-fi SD cards.  One is a gps logger to exif.  The other is a &#039;home&#039; model that simply uploads to just a computer and not to the internet photo sites.  But the one I have will already do that.  The part that irks is their requirement to contact their server.  Sucks :)

keep at it.  I&#039;ll watch you go.
