I haven’t tried this myself but apparently it is easy to set up. See instructions here.
Update: But see comment below if you are a LR user as a plugin is avaiable to make it even easier.

Thanks so much for posting your original tethered shooting script. Works like a dream with my D80 (on WinXP SP2 running under VMWare Fusion on my MacBook Pro).
FYI for yourself and others, there’s an easier solution for Mac than the one described on that Flickr thread. Look here:
